Ashley is a native of Jacksonville, Florida. After graduating high school, he attended Western Carolina University and graduated with a BA in Music and a minor in Computer Science. It was there that he met Katie, his college sweetheart. Upon graduating from Western Carolina and becoming engaged to Katie, Ashley attended Asbury Theological Seminary, where he graduated with a MA in Church Music. Following their wedding, Ashley and Katie moved to Winston-Salem where Ashley spent years as a youth pastor before feeling called to return to school. In 2012 he earned the M.Div from the Wake Forest University School of Divinity and began a 2 ½ year stint as a resident Chaplain at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and the Downtown Health Plaza. After his residency came to an end, Ashley took over the leadership of a large food pantry in Winston-Salem and received his first appointment to the local church as a pastor in 2015.

Ashley and Katie have been married for 24 years, and their son Eli is a rising senior at Atkins High School. Ashley enjoys Star Wars, fountain pens, camping, reading, crochet, photography, and ham radio. Ashley seeks to live out Christ’s commands in Matthew 22 to Love God with all that you are and to love your neighbor as yourself.
